Progress Pics

A very good weekend. Scott and Paul came today and we saw terrific progress. We got to the clutch disc and almost got the gas tank out. I'm trying to screw up the courage to follow the latest advice and take the Sawz-All to the gas tank. It actually worked well on the filler connection. Any other advice?

  1. Hi Bruce,

I ended up using a Dremel rotary tool to cut apart the gas tank to get it all out. It was not a fun task at all, but it did work. Dremel makes a variety of straight bits that look similar to drill bits, but are designed to cut sideways through material. The nice thing about it is that the blade is 2.5 to 3 inches long, but fixed in length, unlike the Sawz-All who's blade length changes to create the sawing action. Using a Sawz-All, you're forever trying to avoid ramming the end of the blade into what ever happens to be on the other side of what you're trying to cut. If you haven't finished taking the tank out, that may be worth a look. Good luck!
